Den Power!
Lions in a zoo look so peaceful and sleepy as you look at them through the thick glass. Now… imagine being placed inside that lion’s den during feeding time…it would not be a good day to experience the power and forcefulness of these lions.
Daniel was placed in the den full of lions by the next ruler while in captivity – all because of his faith.
When we unpack this story and really look at why he was sentenced to the den of death, it makes me think of all of us Rooted Women and how important our faith is at work!! So many of us Christian women go to work in a world full of unbelievers. Very few people in Babylon believed like Daniel did and did not worship our God. This blog is to encourage you to stand rooted in your faith at work!! #boldly#faithfully#kindly
Being different was Daniel’s jam! He was not your average leader and this different was good! He was not really loved in the eyes of the worldly world but adored in the eyes of our God. He was loyal, had integrity, listened well, and respected the unbelievers, lead well and stayed humble. His biggest discrepancy among the people was he always put our God first – his faith was more important than is own life! #amazing
Because he did such a good job by doing his work with excellence and living his life above approach, he had many enemies who wanted to see him fail, they wanted this man of integrity off the leadership team of Babylon!
Reflect on this for a moment, have you wished someone to fail at work? Or have you been on the other end of someone sabotaging you because they wanted you gone? This unfortunately is all very real in 2023 and thankfully Daniel teaches us how to live above reproach – which means “so no criticism can be made of your life.” What a character of faith challenge for us all to learn and live. Daniel was…”faithful, always responsible, and completely trustworthy.” Daniel 6:4
Many of Daniel’s peers did want to see him fail, so they had the King make a law for 30 days saying that the King was the only one who could be prayed or worshiped to – if you prayed or worshiped anything or anyone else it equaled the den of death.
Well…Daniel being faithful always prayed three times a day to our God no matter what! It was his lifeline and what made him who he was!! The enemies of Daniel knew they had to be clever to get rid of him, so they went after his religion because they knew he would be completely faithful.
He was caught praying and the King who respected Daniel greatly had no choice and was forced to send him to his death. Once a law was made by the King back then it could not be over turned.
Let’s think about this for a moment…we as Working Women Rooted in our Faith – is your Christian faith being attacked at work and are you being told what the worldly world will accept? Do we hide our faith because we are afraid we may lose our job? Are we told we can’t talk about God at all? Do we compromise our faith and live a life that could be criticized just to fit in with the right people at work – you know… play the game? Ask yourselves these questions as you walk the halls of your workplace today – I know I will be reflecting for sure! Ask yourself – “Would I stand up for God at work and risk the den of death?”
Daniel did survive the den of death and would have never made an attempt to hide his daily prayer. He was bold and faithful and always stayed kind. God provided protection to Daniel and closed the lions mouths!
We have to stand strong in our faith and not give up or in to the pressures of unbelievers. Our God has powers to do anything He wants and unbelievers just do not understand this type of Power. He shut the mouths of lion’s you all – this is just how amazing our God is!! #denpower
We encourage you to be women who wholeheartedly trust in God, spend time in prayer and do His will. Also, stand up for God and His ways – do not compromise. We should not be compromisers. We are to trust the Lord so much that we flow immeasurable peace and know He will do what is best for us.
My friends, do we trust God with our lives completely, even at work? Marinate here for a bit…and know we serve a faithful God. The den power is real, trust it and be different!
We love you!
Stay Rooted,
Lisa & Heather
