• PRIDE

Webster defines PRIDE as a deep pleasure or satisfaction derived from one’s own achievements. The Bible describes PRIDE as giving ourselves credit for something that God has accomplished! Ultimately pride is self-worship. Pride is taking credit when all the credit and glory go to God. Think of a major accomplishment in your life. Perhaps it was a successful project, a big sell, a pay raise, a bigger house…… Were you proud of yourself or did you give God credit for helping you achieve this? Satan was cast out of Heaven because of pride. Nothing good can come of pride. Only destruction. 1 Corinthians 4:6, “What do you have that you…

  • Opposition

Opposition can and will happen within life and especially within the workplace. These oppositions are usually distractions and will challenge your character and attitude as a Christian. Please keep confidence in our God and know He is fighting for you! His Will may not be what our will is demanding in the moment so take a minute to be still, go to Him in prayer, trust Him, love Him, and know that He is God! #takeaminute When reading the Bible we learn God does overcome even the most difficult odds because He is GOD!! Feel secure in knowing our God can do ANYTHING and trust He is working in your…

  • Love of God

When we read our Bibles we will then know the promises of God! God is for us, He loves us so much. He gave us His one and only son Jesus and would not hold anything back we need! We are His children. In Romans 8 verses 31-39 Paul talks about how “nothing” can separate us from God’s love! In Romans, Paul says Jesus is pleading for us in heaven at the right hand of God. God has given us the right standing with himself. Christ is our advocate in heaven! These are all promises for us as Christians. These promises should put a smile on our face and a…

  • God is our only Source!

Many Christians and nonChristians think it is okay to lean on other sources to figure out the future besides leaning on our GOD! These forms today could be horoscopes, fortune-telling, witchcraft, and bizarre cults. These are detestable to God. (Deut 18:12) In Deuteronomy it is very clear from the Lord that a call to Holy living does not include any of these things. God should be our only source for today and the future to lean on. To hear God and know what to do we must know Jesus and accept Him as our Lord and Savior, we then receive the Holy Spirit within us and He will guide and…

  • Take A Look in the Mirror

Whew! David’s life got messy and way off track. Sin invaded his life so much that he didn’t recognize himself in Nathan’s story of the rich man and the poor man. He immediately condemned the rich man (i.e himself!!!!). If you find it easy to point out the sins and character flaws of others – maybe you need to take a long hard look in the mirror. You may find that you’ve been condemning yourself.

  • AND DAVID ASKED THE LORD…

I’ve never been one to agonize over decisions. In my career issues and questions come at me ALL day long. Years and years of this has conditioned my brain to make decisions quickly. But about 1 ½ months ago I made a pretty quick decision on something regarding our son. I was rushed and I didn’t pray about it. And my husband and I only discussed it in passing. Three strikes! Without going into a lot of details the outcome of this decision turned out to be a little messy. My heart has been heavily convicted as soon as I signed the paper. Why didn’t I pray first? Why did…

  • But when I am afraid…

What’s keeping you up at night? What are you afraid of? God knows every problem and sees every fear. I love what is written in Psalm 56. This Psalm is about trusting in God even in the midst of fear. “When all seems dark, one truth still shines bright: God is for us!” Fear is all around us. Don’t let fear take hold of you. Trust in God. Give your fears over to Him. You are walking in the presence of God – “in life-giving light.” Love, H & L

  • Tithing

Good morning! Reading today in Deuteronomy 14 about tithing. The purpose of tithing is very clear in the Old Testament (OT)…it taught the Israelites to fear the Lord and to put Him first in their lives. In the OT it says we are to give God the first and best of what we earn – “You must set aside a tithe of your crops – one tenth of all crops you harvest each year.” Deut 14:22 Tithing today for many Christians (but not all) does follow the 10% giving of your earnings to God. Jesus taught us that what we do with our monies earned will show what we value…

  • Red Letters

These red letters are life changing! Jesus spoke them to us so that we would know we don’t face trials and struggles alone. We can claim the peace of Christ – the ultimate victory was already won. “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” – Jesus
