You Never Know
A colleague is late for a meeting…..
A mother yells at her kids in the grocery line…..
A car passes you erratically….
A student misses homework for a few days…..
An employee seems distant and not engaged….
What if….
That colleague just found out their parent is very sick.
That mother just found out she lost her job.
The driver was rushing home because of an emergency.
The student is coping with family stress…
The employee just learned a close friend was diagnosed with a terrible disease.
I recently listened to a beautiful testimony of how God rescued a woman from years of anxiety and fear. She had experienced one set back after another and had dealt with some pretty tough issues. As I sat and listened, a wave of realization came over me. We just never really know what others are going through. I had known her during this time and I never knew. Did I show grace?
As women of faith we know that we should show grace to each other; regardless of the situation. Unfortunately in my own life I know I haven’t always lived by this. I’ve often been quick to judge, quick to make my own opinions.
God’s love penetrates even the darkest hearts. He sent His son to die for us. He shows us unconditional love regardless of our flaws. Shouldn’t we also love like our Father? Shouldn’t we also show that same kindness and compassion to others?
You have such an incredible ability to influence the lives of others. Make today a better day by extending the same grace God extends to you to someone else.
Proverbs 15:4 “Gentle words are a tree of life; a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.”
