Words Matter – Think, Talk & Walk for His Glory!
Would you change the way you behave at work if you knew every thought, word, and action would be examined by God first?
“May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.”
Psalm 19:14
As we enter the workplace today, keep Psalm 19:14 front and center in your mind and heart. If the words that are about to pass out of your mouth do NOT please the Lord, hold your tongue and remove the negative thought from your mind. Our ultimate goal as a Christian should be to please and glorify God daily with how we think, talk, and walk.
How do we know what pleases God? This can happen by seeking to know Him through His Word, we will learn principles and values that form the foundation of all we think and do. #bible
Do know this…we can not have powerful change in our lives in our own power, ONLY with the guidance and help from the Holy Spirit within us. We receive the Holy Spirit (our Helper) when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior! #saved
We can and must LOVE the Lord more than any relationship, activity, achievement, or possession in our lives. We are to completely commit our will to Jesus and obey what is written, live for Him and not for man. Follow Him and not the worldly ways. #totalsurrender
Is this “total surrender” always easy, especially at work? Nope, not at all!! You may have a coworker say unkind words to you that hurt super deep or a leader who makes poor decisions and derails a project. But…even in these stressful times, remember WE are responsible for OUR OWN walks of faith! As Christians in the workplace we must please God with how we think and walk and always be kind and gentle with our words. Words do matter!! We must represent FOR God and be the example of a rooted Christian that is healthy.
“Gentle words are a tree of life; a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.” Proverbs 15:4
Heather and I encourage you to begin each day filling up on God’s Word! The Word is Living and the Truth! Then pray with a deep deep desire that God’s love with the help of the Holy Spirit will guide you to think, talk, and walk for His glory. Our minds can be transformed by God, it is written so WE believe!
“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.” Romans 12:2
Stay Rooted,
Lisa & Heather
