We Want, We Want, We Want

This word is said by so many of us each and every day. We want this or we want that, we want to be liked and we want to be accepted. We want, we want, we want!

The Israelites wanted a King and they demanded that Samuel get them one.

Be careful what you want and ask for, God showed us in the book of Samuel He will give it to you!

The Israelites were tired of having Judges, Samuel was old, and they did not like his sons. They wanted something new and better! They told Samuel, “give us a King to judge us like all the other nations.” 1 Samuel 8:4

Samuel went to God telling Him what the people wanted and asking for His guidance.

The Lord said, “Do everything they say to you, for they are rejecting me, not you.” 1 Samuel 8:7

The Israelites no longer wanted to answer to God. They had abandoned God and wanted what other nations had to fulfill their happiness. (Idols and Kings) They thought they had the answer to their nation’s problems.

God had a plan for his people and asking for a King went against it. But he gave the Israelites what they asked for and they ended up suffering.

Many times we can desire to want something and it not be wrong, but look at the reason you want it so badly! Does it align with God’s guidelines in the Bible? If you are not reading and learning His ways you have no idea. You want what you want for yourself! Get in your Bibles!’

Stop trying to be like everyone else in this worldly world (like unbelievers) and start today to get connected to God. We have to build a relationship with God to even want to live by His will or ways.

We need Jesus you all! When we accept and follow Jesus as our King – we are able to get to God! This is Truth and is written. (John 14:6)

We should WANT to be different – keep striving to be different – seek God 100% and ask Him what he WANTS from you!!

Don’t become beige and want to fit in with the worldly world. Shine bright as can be for our faith and trust our God along with His plan.
