Sold Out To God…
King David sought God’s presence every day, not just in times of troubles.
“The one thing I ask the Lord – the thing I seek the most – is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord’s perfections and meditating in His Temple.” Psalm 27:4 (NLT)
David’s greatest desire was to live in God’s presence each day of his life. We can learn from David!! His desire and commitment to live in God’s presence gave him confidence that whatever God brought him to – God would bring him through. WE need to develop this unwavering confidence like David. We must seek the Lord, make him FIRST in our lives, and meditate daily in prayer with the Holy Spirit.
We Christian’s are a temple for the Holy Spirit. Our bodies host the Holy Spirit that God the Father sent to us when we committed our hearts and lives to Jesus. When we became believers in our King Jesus we received this Spirit! What a privilege we all have received and many don’t partner with this Helper.
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.”
John 14:26 (ESV)
Let us have unwavering confidence in God and His Spirit…this is our antidote for life when it floods us both with good times or bad! God is enough! His Spirit He sent us will guide us, teach us, and take us on the pathway of Jesus. But we have to want to participate and be active in our faith.
Our attitude and desire to be active in God’s presence is what keeps our faith heartbeat healthy and thriving. God loves you and is with you all the time! Desire to be with Him also!
“The Lord is my light and salvation – so why should I be afraid?”
Psalm 27:1 NLT
“Taste and see the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him.” Psalm 34:8 NLT
“Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desire.” Psalm 37:4 NLT
David faced many trials and enemies in his lifetime but God was FIRST in his life. His heart was broken often and he had much disappointment…there is nothing worse than a broken heart and disappointment. (Can I get an amen?) David did not always understand what was going on or why, but he took REFUGE in God and really really trusted Him.
“The Lord is close to the broken-hearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” Psalm 34:18
Rooted hopes this blog brings you hope if you are in times of troubles, sadness, are broken hearted, or have been rejected. I heard yesterday from a leadership podcast “When we change our relationship with rejection, we change our entire lives!!” Jamie Kern Lima
David had an attitude for God not the rejection!! Please don’t be imprisoned by the fear of this worldly world but rather overcome fear by obeying and trusting in the Lord – get in His presence and become sold out to God!! Remember God loves us! Yes… all of us!!
Be sold out to God like David! David was not perfect, he sinned and also had doubt at times, but the Bible shows his heart was sold out to God. Let the light of the Lord shine in on your hearts my friends!! Please continue to start each day with reading God’s promises in the Living Word. This is our guide and God’s encouragement. Look at this!!
“Calamity will surely destroy the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be punished. But the Lord will redeem those who serve him. No one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.”
Psalm 34:21-22 NLT
God has got us – for eternity! Praise!!
Unwavering confidence in the Lord will build our faith. This attitude of confidence is created by… getting in God’s presence through prayer. Giving Him our hearts and lives. Embracing the Holy Spirit as our Helper and learning the ways of Jesus through the Bible. And most of all…by soaking in God’s unconditional unwavering LOVE for us!!
God is enough my friends.
God is love.
Be sold out to God!!
Stay Rooted,
