As we recognize a woman each day this week; perhaps the boldest woman for God is actually one with no name. We read about her in Mark and Luke as Jesus was walking through the Temple in Jerusalem. I can not imagine sitting in a room knowing that the answers to questions about my religion could mean death. Yet, Virginia Prodan faced her assassins on several occasions and prayed scripture over the men determined to kill her. Bold for God!!! They attacked her and threatened her life and the life of her children. Yet, she would not deny God or provide information that would put others at risk. Today we highlight Priscilla from the Bible. She is referenced in Acts, Romans, 1 Corinthians and 2 Timothy. She was married to Aquila and really their names and story go hand in hand. This was an outstanding husband and wife team who ministered in the early church. Their livelihood came from tent making while serving Christ. After being deported from Rome, they meet Paul in Corinth. They invited Paul to live with them. Priscilla and Aquila taught Paul how to tent-make and he taught them even more about Jesus Christ! As you read the Bible it is amazing to learn how the New Testament is connected to the Old Testament. This is a great example! In the Old Testament God was very clear about His decrees, regulations, and instructions on how to obey Him. He gave these to the people through Moses as evidence of the relationship between Him and the Israelites. When the people of Israel disobeyed, God punished them. When they obeyed there would be peace and when they disobeyed disaster would follow. It seemed pretty simple and clear in Leviticus 26, if you sinned He would punish and often by sending calamity.
