• Serve the Lord Alone

Will you serve God or yourself or another imperfect substitute? The choice is yours. “As for me and my family, we will serve the Lord” – powerful words said by Joshua in chapter 24 and words that have great and powerful meaning to me! #commitment Joshua did not just verbally say this, he was a leader with action and showed it! Talk is cheap! It is easy to say we will follow God but what do your actions say? Joshua’s faith in God was shown by his powerful leadership through action…He obeyed God’s Word and also loved Him wholeheartedly. Joshua is a leader who served God first and his people…

  • Who is Your Favorite?

When my daughter was a little girl she would often say, ‘Mommy, who is your favorite?’ She is the youngest with two older brothers. My response was always the same. “I love all three of you with all my heart, but you are my favorite daughter.” (Oh those days go by fast!) I thought about her little innocent question as I was reading Romans 2:11: “For God does not show favoritism.” Over and over again it is written: Galatians 2:6 “God has no favorites” Ephesians 6:9 “…and he has no favorites.” Colossians 3:25 “…for God has no favorites…” Acts 10:34 “I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism.” We…

  • Attitude? Sometimes we need an attitude adjustment.

Paul wrote: Always be joyful **** Look for the positives in people and in your day to day experiences. I’m always asking my team, what went well, what was your win. There will always be something to improve, but start with what went well. Never stop praying **** pray about all things. Talk to God. Be honest when you’re struggling and then say prayers of thank you’s when you aren’t. Be thankful in ALL circumstances**** I’m often asked, “How are you leading through such a crisis?” My faith sustains me. God is with me. I am thankful. We acknowledge the challenge, adjust our plans and move forward. We persevere. Each…

  • Revenge

From Paul… ”Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For scriptures say… ‘I will take revenge, I will pay them back,’ says the Lord. Instead…If your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals of shame on their heads. Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.” Romans 12:19-22 It is so easy to… have an attitude of I am right, they are wrong, take a side, be so offended by what they said, and shut someone out of your life when a disagreement is alive in…

  • God – The Best Friend Ever

If you are lost, angry, confused, have anxiety, or just feel empty please keep reading. How do we move away from the above feelings? I am going to be blunt and ask you – when was the last time you read your Bible? And I mean consistently reading it or do you just read it when it is convenient? Be truthful with your answer and then go to God with it! Listen up!!! We NEED God’s Word. God’s Word teaches us. God’s Word fills us. God’s Word is HOW we are to live and love as Christians. When you commit to read the Bible each morning your life will be…

  • “Why Am I Here?”

There will be times in your career where doubt and fear will start to creep in. You may even start to ask yourself, “why am I here?” Trust me! It happens! I love what John C. Maxwell writes in his book Developing the Leader Within You: “At such times I do not feel competent enough, experienced enough, strong enough, faithful enough, wise enough, or qualified enough…I must acknowledge my weakness, ask God and others to help me, and summon the courage to take action.” Ephesians 6:10 “Finally be STRONG in the Lord and in his MIGHTY power.” Courage can come only from God and the power of the Holy Spirit…

  • It Starts By Faith

Past experiences can lead to guilt that becomes buried so deeply inside us. How do we get rid of the guilt, the shame; that scarlet letter we feel on our chest? It starts by FAITH. “But people are counted as righteous, not because of their work, BUT because of their faith in God who forgives sinners.” Romans 4:5 Jesus died on the cross so that our sins could be forgiven. Joy will fill your heart and soul when you realize (through faith!) that when you admit your sin and ask God for forgiveness….He will do it! How? Spend time with Him every day! Read His word! “He is the Word…

  • Integrity

When one has good morals, is honest, and undivided we call this a person of integrity. We should all want to be leaders of integrity. Joshua was a leader in the Bible of integrity. He had been deceived by the Hivite enemy to make a peace treaty to protect and not hurt them – for life. He found out they lied, but kept his word and honored the treaty. The Hivites of Gibeon received word the southern armies heard of this peace treaty they made with Joshua and the Israelites. The southern armies then aligned together and came charging after the Hivites to destroy them. The Hivites sent a message…

  • Do Right or Do Well?

Doing right is more important than doing well…this is one of the most challenging lessons to remember daily as Christian Moms, wives, employees, & leaders that like to do well in the eyes of others. God’s way is the ONLY way! He will guide and protect us even when doing right (following His Word) is not the popular way of the world (doing well). Stop trying to fix “it” your way and start today doing it “all” God’s way. Happy Monday & Stay Rooted L & H

  • ENVY

I can distinctly remember the first time I felt envy. I was about five years old and was incredibly envious of my neighbor friend who had a pair of high heels. Envy is the desire to have a quality, possession, or other desirable attribute belonging to (someone else). As I look back over my life and career I can see the times jealousy and envy wreaked havoc on me. One of the biggest areas I fell trap to was envy against the men I worked with and the “assumed” salary divide between us. My bad attitude consumed me. I’ve been studying the books of Samuel for several weeks now. Boy…
