Old Testament and Leadership

Many Christians I know will read the New Testament or a devotional, but do not study the Old Testament.  For me, I read the OT part of the Bible to become aware of how God acts in history.  To know His character and His ways – we have to read the whole Bible to get knowledge of what pleases God.

I have heard people say, there is so much violence and killing in the OT, I just can’t do it.  Yes, I agree…there was war and bloodshed and it is different from living in America in 2021, but the history of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit is in the OT and we need to learn from it!

As working women rooted in our faith at work we are to lead with influence in the workplace no matter what position or title you have.  We can glean so much on leadership skills and tips even in the OT!

In 1 Kings 12 it teaches us so much about the mistakes and lessons of being a leader who cares about their people:

– What happens when a Kingdom

      is divided due to leaders?

– Tribal jealousies

– Be careful who you seek council from…

– Are you a leader willing to be a servant to the people or do you want success and fame for yourself? #servantleadership

– Are you willing to listen to God when He speaks & be still or just ignore Him and build & worship worldly idols?

These are all things we go through in 2021 in the workplace, at home, and in ministry!  We can hopefully learn from the past by reading the Bible (ALL of it) and walk as a Christians leader that pleases God.

Leadership Tip:

Great leaders put the best interests of their people above their own.  When you make a decision as a leader that benefits only yourself, it will backfire – keep the welfare of others in mind. (It is not about us, it is about the people we lead! #valuethem)

If you need a teaching Bible let us know, Rooted will get you one. We love you and please continue to be bold for our God – especially at work! ❤️🙌🏻
