Matthew Week 1:
A week goes by so fast. It’s already Thursday again! That is why God tells us life is a vapor. It never slows down. It only speeds up, which is why we are so passionate about getting working women in their Bibles.
Last Thursday we posted a 28 Day Challenge for reading the book of Matthew. Our prayer is that each of you will make it a priority to get in His word and really start your journey of learning who God is and who you are to Him.
This past week we’ve learned a lot:
The birth of Jesus was epic and the world took notice.
The Jews didn’t recognize Jesus as the Messiah because they were looking for a political king to save them. Sound familiar?
Jesus faced the temptation of Satan straight on but He held fast to truths given by His Father. We face these same temptations and can turn to Jesus for strength.
Jesus preaches the Beatitudes. We learn about the true blessings from God. We learn how to see our blessings regardless of our daily circumstances.
And then in red letters (the words spoken by Jesus) we learn how to live through and approach all the issues we face in this life. He lays it out….from anger, loving our enemies to divorce, worry, to protecting the needy and beating fruit.
You took the first step! You’re starting to learn who Jesus is and what He teaches us! Maybe you got behind this week in your reading. That’s ok! Maybe you wanted to start but life happened. That’s ok. Tomorrow is a new day. The Christian walk isn’t easy, the road gets narrow and it winds through many hills and valleys, but it continues to eternity.
If something in Matthew spoke to you over this week drop us a note below. We’d love to hear from you! We love you!
Love from Rooted,
Heather & Lisa
