Madame Guyon

This week Heather and I will write about Christian women not from the Bible but who have influenced so many through God’s Word and her writings.

Her name is Jeanne Guyon also known as  Madame Guyon. Look her up and read her books!  She was a writer and follower of Jesus. She was arrested and incarcerated in prison and dungeons because of her writings and outward love for Jesus. She was beaten, tortured, almost starved to death in these horrible places because of her deep love for the gospels and our Savior Jesus – she was bold but gentle and God is still using her today!!

What Heather and I love about these writings from the 1600’s is we can relate them to our lives today. How incredible that she wrote about Jesus and scripture and it is inspiring us many centuries later! Only our God!!

Madame Guyon will encourage you and really gets to the heart of living for Jesus – all glory to God!

Enjoy this week, it has been a pleasure putting it together!  🤍🙌🏻

Here are three books by Jeanne Guyon that are in our library and we recommend them for your library also.

– “I, Jeanne Guyon” By Nancy James: this is Jeanne’s Biography and her story of imprisonment as she tells what she endured.

– “Experiencing the Depths of Jesus Christ” by Jeanne Guyon: written for those who love Jesus and desire to be wholly given to God and love God.

– “Intimacy with Christ” by Jeanne Guyon: Her words speak to us through short  letters written  on how to know the Lord intimately.

These books will meet you where you are and lead you on to a higher place in Christ. ❤️

No secular book replaces reading the Bible daily (so get in the WORD!)

That being said, Heather and I have found these books read along with the Bible show you practical ways to walk more closely with the Lord!

Stay Rooted,

Lisa & Heather
