Laziness Leads To Destruction

“A lazy person is as bad as someone who destroys things.” Proverbs 18:9 (NLT)

“One who is slack in his work is brother to one who destroys.” Proverbs 18:9 (NIV)

“Lazy” and “slack” stick out above and then we read “destroys.” These are two different translations of the same Proverb.  God does not want us to be lazy in our daily job or spiritual life, laziness will lead to destruction.

Let’s look at our daily job: We go to work each day to provide money but many complain and are lazy on the job.  If we are LAZY on the job we fail to grow. We do earn a paycheck, but being lazy on the job will cause us to be lazy at home. We will not set and follow a family budget and then we will definitely grow…grow financially POOR vs secure!

When we are lazy in one part of life we will be lazy in other parts of our life.  Laziness leads to destruction.

Let’s look at this Proverb with our spiritual lives. If we are LAZY in our spiritual walks, though we have Biblical knowledge and are saved, we are compared to a brother that is a waster and persecutor of our faith…a destroyer. Ouch!

When we are lazy in one part of our spiritual walk we will be lazy in other parts of our spiritual walk.  Laziness leads to destruction.

In Matthew 12:30 Jesus says, “Anyone who isn’t with me opposes me, and anyone who isn’t working with me is actually working against me.”

Working for something with passion requires action with purpose and is the opposite of laziness.  We have to have passion for our job and our faith and remain active.

Jesus despises lukewarm Christians. We have to stop being lazy about our faith…like kind of reading our Bibles or praying ONLY when we need something!!  Are you an ALL in Christian?

Jesus said, “But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!” Revelations 3:16

We either follow Him actively or we don’t.  Being a lukewarm, lazy Christian is not God’s way. It is your choice to be hot or cold. But, please know this, when we don’t choose God’s side we then choose Satan’s side – destruction will begin.

If you don’t know Jesus and have not been saved by Him – please ASK me and I will tell you about Him!! It is never too late to follow Him!

Our ultimate job as Christians is to spread the Good News to ALL people.

Jesus told His disciples, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.” Mark 16:15

He loves each and every one of us so much! He is the Son of God that died for us and three days later rose from the dead. When we accept Him as our Savior…then we GET to God.  We can ONLY GET to God through Jesus.

Jesus told them, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”

John 14:6

When we remain lazy we are not active, this is common sense right!? Well…being passionately active with Jesus will change your life – we need to make this common practice!!

Jesus is love, truth, peace, life, and freedom – you can have all of this when you are an active player on His team!

Passion will produce results. Go forth passionately today in your job and spiritual walk – let the laziness go!

Stay Rooted,

Lisa ❤️
