He Can Be Trusted With The Details
Worry…
So many times in life we utter the words, I am worried about ______. What was the word you filled in the blank with, got that worry in your head? I know I have said this, as early as yesterday actually, as a huge hurricane is heading toward my family in Florida these words left my mouth. I was worried what might happen to them as Ian made landfall. Will they be safe, have power, have water, and enough food?
Reading in Psalm 85 today in reverence for our God I was led to Matthew 6:25-34. The living Word is so kind and will continue to remind us that God does not ignore those who depend on Him.
In these verses Jesus teaches us that the God who created life in you can be trusted with the details of your life. When we worry it can immobilize us and reduce our ability to trust in God.
“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life – whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?” Matthew 6:25
The teaching part of my Bible also said this – “Learn to say…I have concern about a situation vs I am worried about it.” This is a mind shift we need to adopt and then speak. Concern can lead us to action versus worrying which can lead us to a stand still. Obviously, God needed to remind me of this as I let worry flood me yesterday.
“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” Matthew 6:34
This is a great reminder that living one day at a time will help us from being consumed by worry.
As Christian women within the workplace make sure you plan for tomorrow and live for today! Be present in your meetings and with your teams. Really listen to your coworkers, give them the time they deserve and show them how much you care. When we carefully plan out our days we write out our tasks, determine next steps, and our schedules are detailed down to the hour but remember ladies most important in our planning is trusting in God’s guidance. When we plan well, it will help elevate worry. Walk each day knowing His Holy Spirit is powerfully inside of you and let Him guide you!
Don’t be consumed by fear of tomorrow, when I do this it is because I have taken my eyes off God. Each morning in my quiet time I am able to get refocused on our God and grow our relationship. Look how he comforted me today. It keeps me on track and helps elevate worry. My relationship with God will come first over any fears or worries of tomorrow. Thank you Jesus!!
PS – looks like Tampa is not getting a direct hit and my family will be a bit safer, but let’s please keep praying for ALL of Florida. This is some action we can take now!!
Stay Rooted & We love you,
