God Goes Ahead
Can you imagine the moment of clarity that Joseph had when his brothers stood before him all those years later? When Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers none of them knew what the future would hold. And Joseph never questioned; he just accepted and served right where he was, even from prison.
But God knew it all! He had placed Joseph right where he needed to be to become Governor over all the land of Egypt. As he is consoling his brothers and asking them not to be angry with themselves he tells them, “God has sent me ahead of you to keep you and your families alive and to preserve many survivors.” Through Joseph their family & many many others were able to survive the great famine in the land. “God sent me here, not you!”
It is human nature for us to wonder at times, “why am I here, what purpose am I serving?” When you find yourself doubting and questioning think about Joseph, his brothers, and the great famine. It may take years and years for us to fully see God’s plan unfold but rest assured that nothing is by chance. Pray prior prayers and pray that God’s will be done….right where you are.
“Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you.” (Deuteronomy 31:8)
