Gifts Day 2 – Stewards of our Gifts
We are all guilty of regifting right? Someone gives you a gift but for various reasons you decide you can’t really use it so you give it to someone else. (Don’t raise your hand….)
But the gifts we receive from God are just for us. He chose them for us. Unlike the regift- we can’t just pretend our gift isn’t there and give it away. God’s word tells us to use our gifts and serve others.
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10
Too often the pressure of society makes us start to evaluate success through the eyes of man and not our Father. We start to compare our gifts to others. We may even start to question our gifts and our ability.
If you find yourself here, I encourage you to pray and dedicate your gift to God’s service and not to the world’s standard of success. I wouldn’t be writing this to share if I didn’t know first hand what it was like to walk through this.
Embrace your gift and take comfort that it comes from God. Know your purpose. Be a good steward of your gift. Use that gift to serve others at home, at church, in the community, or at work – whether it’s speaking, helping others, leadership, teaching, or even hospitality and do it BIG and do it only for the glory of God. When your gifts are used to glorify God, others will see Jesus in you! Isn’t that amazing!?
