Friends & Compassion…
When going through something in life that causes much grief, oftentimes we want to just give up. I know I have been there before…Can I get an AMEN?!
In the story of Job, he was grieving due to loss that seems so completely unbearable to grasp, the pain was incredibly real.
Many of his friends came around and gave their opinion of why such terrible suffering had happened to him. One blamed it on some sin he must have done and was being punished by God.
I am so thankful for the book of Job. Not all suffering is caused by sin we did. There are many different reasons we suffer per the Bible and God was not punishing Job. God loves Job and Job loves God – He had a plan for Job as He does for you too! So…don’t give up even if we can’t seem to understand what and why suffering is happening.
Friends and close people in our lives who offer counsel from God’s Word should take care to thoroughly understand a person’s situation before giving advice. In my times of suffering, I have had people give me advice starting with God’s truth and then go off on a tangent of what they think. We are not to limit God to our own perspective and finite understanding of life. Our God is so much bigger!!
Pain and suffering will happen as we live our lives and yes…it will help us grow as Christians. Job surely did not understand why he was suffering, but his faith in God had a chance to grow because of it.
So…whatever you are going through right now that is causing you to suffer and grieve, know that our God loves you! Hardship is not eliminated from our lives just because we are Christians, but for sure our faith will grow if we stay connected to the source. Thank you Jesus for giving us a direct relationship with the Father!! #OurSavior
And… if you have a friend who is suffering, STOP and just have compassion, this may be just what they need! We need to stop trying to fix everything and them. Go to them and listen, and then just LOVE them. We don’t need to try to be the one to figure out and explain God and His plan. #lovethem #TrustGod #compassion
“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” Romans 8:28
Love & trust Him in the good and bad times and exercise your faith – He has got us!!
We love you!!
