EVERYWHERE I GO
Do you ever have those moments along your spiritual journey that just stick with you? I remember about 4 years ago (feels like 2!) I had a meeting to attend and I dreaded it so much. The subject was difficult as well as the people. I woke up on the morning of the meeting to a sweet text from Lisa.
The Holy Spirit had led her to reach out (I had not shared my anxiety) and I’ll never forget what she wrote. “Before you enter the conference room, pray for God’s presence. Just imagine Him being there and sitting at the table.” And that’s what I did. And that’s what I’ve continued to do. God is truly everywhere we go.
“Am I a God who is only close at hand?” says the Lord. “No, I am far away at the same time. Can anyone hide from me in a secret place? Am I not everywhere in all the heavens and earth?” says the Lord.” Jeremiah 23:23-24 NLT
Each and every day consists of encounter after encounter that are beyond our ability to control. I had no control over the content of that meeting or the people that would be sitting in that room. But God did. I did however have the ability to call upon His presence to comfort me, to keep things civil, to lessen my fear. He is far away yet close at hand all at once. We can ALL call upon Him at the same time; any time, any place.
Trust me, there will be times you will be convinced that God has surely abandoned you right in the middle of a dreadful circumstance. Fight that thought. He is there if you look for Him. Seek Him, even during the times you feel like hiding.
“I will be found by you,” says the Lord. “I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land.”

He’s waiting to hear from you. He’s ready to be found. He’s ready to sit down beside you at the table and cover you with his grace, love, and mercy. God is everywhere.
