Empowering

Leadership is influence – nothing more and nothing less.  This is how John Maxwell defines leadership and this definition has become part of Rooted’s DNA.

This week in my Bible reading some of the Proverbs that nudged my heart to post were on reputation and doing the right thing in leadership. As leaders that want the right kind of influence with our teams, our reputation needs to reflect our character.  Our character should emulate and reflect the character of our Jesus.  Read the Gospels to learn Jesus’ character – Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. It will change your leadership life.

As we also celebrate the birth of our Savior this weekend, what an honor and privilege to teach and share a story on leadership from the best leader there is! #Jesus

When we empower people, we give away power and watch people multiply our vision. Jesus did this in Matthew chapter 10. He sent out the 12 disciples two by two as teams to far away towns to drive out impure spirits and heal every disease and sickness. (Matthew 10:1)

Think about this… Jesus sent out 12 ordinary men who he just started teaching and training to exercise their gifts and talk about Him. What a power move!  I love it.

But…you may be asking yourself…Are the disciples ready or qualified to do what Jesus was asking of them?

Well…probably not! But…God does not call the qualified, He qualifies the called.  Jesus knew their hearts and that was enough, now we have to learn to trust God!! So…if the Lord has put something on your heart to do, go do it!  Don’t let the naysayers, the Negatives, or the religious people tell you you’re not there yet or not good enough – be as bold & brave as the disciples and move forward!!  Jesus does not search for the perfect people, He seeks after the people with a heart for Him! 🤍

I have learned from Jesus that leaders must develop others to reach their full potential. But there has to become a point in our development process to let our teams go like He did! We have taught them and now we must set them free to explore and learn.

You all…Jesus gave the power away and ended up multiplying His influence – hugely!! Jesus cared and developed his team, no one did this better than Jesus!! #goals #letgoofthepower

Empowering our teams will grow our vision to another dimension!  Effective leadership attracts the talents of others so we encourage you to embrace the talent on your team and let your team soar!! We must let them shine!

My take away from Matthew 10…if God calls us…He will then qualify us for the job!  We need to develop confidence in what the Word of God says and trust it to action! Jesus as a leader gave a clear confident plan to his team and sent them off to action! We must do the same for our teams and watch what happens!! #growth

Heather and I are excited to move into 2023 with this ministry and all of you!  Thank you for your continued support. We love learning the Word and sharing God’s ways. 🙌🏻

We all can be leaders with a heart for Jesus. 🤍 #WWRF

Merry Christmas week!
