  • Den Power!

Lions in a zoo look so peaceful and sleepy as you look at them through the thick glass. Now… imagine being placed inside that lion’s den during feeding time…it would not be a good day to experience the power and forcefulness of these lions. Daniel was placed in the den full of lions by the next ruler while in captivity – all because of his faith. When we unpack this story and really look at why he was sentenced to the den of death, it makes me think of all of us Rooted Women and how important our faith is at work!! So many of us Christian women go to…

  • Does He Care?

Let me take you back to 2015…it is Sunday morning and attending church for Todd and I had become our new norm. After many many decades of Sunday mornings just being about anything but church…like sleeping in, travel, exercise, football tailgating or nursing a hangover from the night before – we had started to change thanks to Jesus!! We are now different, we are church goers, committed to serving and worshiping our God each Sunday morning – Praise We loved our new norm. Fast forward 6 years to 2021 and our church life norm changes quickly and dramatically. We no longer attend the church that had become our home, I…

  • THE GREATEST RSVP

Call me old fashioned I guess. I still love cards and invitations that come in the mail. I love weddings and the beautiful invitations. I also know the months and months of planning that it takes and how important it is for the bride and groom to know how many people are attending. For the guests it is a big commitment to send that card back accepting the invitation. Weddings are expensive! By returning the RSVP and accepting we have an obligation! Unfortunately if we get busy and don’t plan well we can have some serious conflicts at the last minute. And how disappointing it is for the bride and…

  • Hide and Seek…

This past weekend my sweet granddaughter spent the day with me. She wanted to play hide and seek. She would go hide and I would say…where is Ayla? Easily, I could see where she was but because she could not see me – she thought she was hidden. Small children think that if they can’t see you…then you can’t see them. I would find her and she smiled and laughed then give me a big hug! Then she would say, “Gigi now you go hide.” She would close her eyes and start her count down. As I keep reading deeper and deeper into the book of Jeremiah – it is…

  • TAKE THE FIRST STEP

It was time for the Israelites to finally cross the Jordan River and enter the Promised Land. The Lord told Joshua, “When you reach the banks of the Jordan River, take a few steps into the River and stop there.” As the priests entered the river with the Ark of the Covenant the “water began backing up a great distance until the riverbed was dry.” When the Israelites came to the river they had no idea how they would cross. I’m sure it seemed impossible – they had a big problem on their hands. But God provided instruction. What problems do you face today? Have you sought God in prayer…

  • Idols…

Don’t trust man made things trying to predict your future, like horoscopes. Before I surrendered my life to God seven years ago, I read them everyday, hoping for a glimpse of goodness for my good day. What a foolish way to live. We as Christian must put our trust in God and God alone. In His Word! He will guide us through each day and unfold our future as He walks with us through His Holy Spirit inside of us!! This is a big deal you all!! Our God is great and full of power – there is no one like our God!! Anything we put above or before God…

  • PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY

As I sat down to write about all the amazing truths in Romans 12 I just didn’t feel that anything I could write would do this chapter justice. So I put the pen down. God’s word is sufficient. There’s nothing more I could really say that would be as impactful. I love this chapter! So today my post is Romans 12 from The Message. Whew! “So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t…

  • Character or Compromise?

How a leader acts with the circumstances of work life will tell you many things about their character. Adversity & crisis have a powerful way of allowing us to choose one of two paths: either character or compromise. When we choose the path of character, we will grow stronger even if it is a more difficult path. Character is the foundation of how a leader builds their life, it reflects their core values, their moral excellence, their firmness in what they believe. Being a person of faith along with many reading this blog, we believe in Jesus and the Gospels. We desire to follow God’s will and His ways –…

  • BATTLES AND VICTORIES

Last year on April 8, 2022 I published a blog titled ‘Leaving the Crowd.’ At the time I wrote this blog I had just navigated three months of consistent heartache; from the near loss of my Mother, my sister’s cancer diagnosis, to the sudden death of my very loved step father. My heart was mourning and I was clinging to my faith. And in that moment as God gave me that blog, I had realized that just like Jesus, I too needed my quiet mountain time. I needed that time of grief in the garden. So now we are a year later and I’ve had so very many days to…

  • USE YOUR GIFTS

Five years ago I woke up early in a California hotel room to practice one last time for a Ted Talk I had prepared for my company’s top executive leaders. I was beyond nervous but also excited. The topic was about creating a vision and leading a team to the end goal. One of my favorite leadership topics!!! But first I had to start with my daily Bible reading. It still gives me chills when I think about it. But in my daily reading God put these verses before me that morning. “God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well…
