A True Friend

My Mom has always told us that as we go through life, if we find one true friend we are blessed. Today as I was listening to the song “How Great is our God” I just had an overwhelming feeling of deepest gratitude for a very special friend. The past few weeks have been 90 miles per hour for me. I have struggled mentality and physically to keep up with a very demanding career on top of being a Mom, wife, daughter and ministry leader. As Jamey Green once preached, I have been in the middle of a full blown “freak out moment.” It all came crashing down this week as I tried to find the balance between the inner pull of wanting more time to spend with God (Mary!) and the long list of items that keep me busy (Martha!). And all I knew to do was to keep taking my heart to God for healing and peace. He is always there and with us through every minute of our life’s journey. In dark times and good times his hand remains on our shoulder. And through these rough weeks, Lisa was there reaching out to check on me, praying for me, and sending her love. An untrue friend would have said “How can I be in a ministry with this crazy girl!” Lisa, I just wanted to thank you publicly for being what you teach us! A woman who loves! You are a great partner and friend to me. My Mother’s words hold true. One of the greatest gifts we can find on this earth is a true friend. “How great is our God! He is the name above all names, worthy of our praise, My heart will sing, How great is our God!”
