ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT

For those that don’t know, I work in logistics. I’m sure for anyone that has made a recent trip to the grocery store you can understand the challenges. I mean it’s hard to even find peanut butter and cream cheese some days. It’s been a very stressful and extremely difficult two years.

But we started 2022 with an agreement that we would control what we could control. Our slogan has been “Making Adjustments & Not Excuses.” We knew the only way to progress together as a team was to have a positive attitude.

As I’ve studied Jeremiah the realization of how important our attitudes are as leaders stuck with me. Jeremiah was frustrated and very discouraged. He was in a difficult situation, his attitude was shifting, people were turning against him and he cried out to God for help. Two things I love about what this teaches us: one) even God’s anointed grow weary but yet two) our Father is there for us and He hears our cries for help. Oh how I hope you see the mercy and love here!!

God’s response is something to cling to. Ponder this through your day:

“If racing against mere men makes you tired, how will you race against horses? If you stumble and fall on open ground, what will you do in the thickets near the Jordan?”  ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭12:5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Essentially God was saying, “if you can’t handle the small things how will you handle the big events?” “This is minor and your attitude is bad.” If your attitude is consistently bad over day to day things, how will God be able to use you when things go really south?

Each day as Christian leaders in the workplace we must remind ourselves to surrender to our Father and not to our circumstances. Lord, please help our attitudes reflect You!

Paul said it best. “You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.”

(‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:5‬ ‭NLT‬‬) Jesus prayed consistently and He worried about nothing. He didn’t argue and He didn’t go around with a bad attitude even though he knew the death that awaited Him.

Our attitudes are our choice. When we think more about others than ourselves it’s hard to have a bad attitude. Love continues to be the key foundation. Jesus was always thinking of others and their needs before Himself. The fruits of the Spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. (Galatians 5:22-23) When we are living in the Spirit our attitudes transform. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Less me, more of Jesus.

Love from Rooted,

Heather & Lisa
