Ponder, Prayer, & Patience
Heather and I both trust God deeply. Thank goodness because over the last month we have had some major changes on our ministry journey. With all the change, we will be vision casting new ideas for Rooted in 2022 – yay! But not gonna lie, this does cause some stress for us type A’s who always have a plan! On our new journey we do know this for sure… we both have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that we build upon daily along with going to work! This is the Rooted combo!! We are to be examples for God in the secular world right next to our coworkers. We…

Organization = Wise Leadership
We are coming to the end of the year…so January is always looked at as a fresh start for many to apply some change. #newyearsresolution As a trainer in the Corporate world, one topic that comes up frequently from many is organization. Many times our leaders will say, “I have got to get more organized – what advice do you have?” My biggest nugget of advice…organizational skills do not only affect our work life but also affect our personal lives. So what does this mean? It must start with you! If you are not organized at home then how can you be organized at work? Start with yourself at home…

Pray For Wisdom
Wisdom received is only effective when it is put into action. Bold statement right, but truth learned as I read about King Solomon’s life, his great wisdom, and his loyalty to our God. Solomon became King and was able to ask God for anything he wanted and God would give it to him. (Love our God!!) King Solomon asked, “Give me an understanding heart so I can govern your people well and know the difference between right and wrong.” 1Kings 3:9 He wanted understanding to carry out his job. He did not ask for God to do his job for him and we should not ask God to do FOR…

The Heart of Mary
The Heart of Mary – posted last year. Thank you to a very dear friend who reminded us yesterday the importance of “pondering” on God’s word. “So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told to them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in heart.” (Luke 2: 16-19) Can you imagine how Mary must have felt over these last months? To have an angel appear to…

Talk with Him, Walk with Him
If you are reading this, you have a unique ability to do something great for God! Yes, you!! I love reading about Nehemiah and his ability to lead people. He had a vision and a plan to achieve it. He’s my kind of person! But he didn’t forget God in the process and that’s what I love about him the most. Be a person who TALKS to God. Tell Him your fears and even how you feel. Tell Him your vision and ask Him for wisdom and guidance. Share everything! He’s your Father. Then, WALK with God. Read His word and apply it to your life. As you read, ask…

Leading for God!
Is your leadership self-serving or God-serving? This is a question we need to ask ourselves daily as we walk into our work place. Here are a few more questions to ponder… when accomplishing our goals are we ruthless and do whatever it takes to win? Are we striving to get the power and then protect the power? How do we make our teams feel? Do we practice the Golden Rule with everyone we work with? Going to work each day can put us up against these questions for sure – can I get an Amen?! For many people living with a big ego, pride, and power are more important than…
