And God Saw That it Was Good
In the first 31 verses of Genesis we learn seven times that God saw good in His creation. And on the 6th day, “God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good.” Genesis 1:31 Everything that God created from the waters, to the sky, to the stars, to man and woman, God called them good. They were excellent to Him in every way. God created all of life with the deepest love ever imagined. And this includes YOU!! But even among the beauty of God’s creation; temptation was allowed to enter the world. If you spend 8 seconds scrolling news or social media you…

Honor & Peace
In the Old Testament they had Kings that ruled the land. There were over 40 Kings of Israel and only 4 were called “good.” Their failure was mainly because they lacked a moral backbone for God and this became the root of Israel’s problems for centuries. As we lead our teams at work it does take courage and strength to stand firm in your convictions. We must also lead with a moral backbone for God! Strong Christian leaders must confront wrongdoing in the face of opposition. Weaker leaders will just let wrongdoing go to not upset the status quo. When we believe something is wrong, do not let yourself be…

Loyal Without Being Blind…
There is a woman in the Bible that just amazes me by how loyal she is to her marriage and to God! Her name is Abigail. Look up her story in 1Samuel chapter 25. She was given in marriage to a wealthy man named Nabal but he was crude and mean in all his dealings. Culture at this time placed a low value on women. Nabal’s household did all they could to keep him out of trouble, this influence was led by his wife – a woman he really did not deserve. (This is my opinion)! David was about to have some revenge on Nabal …because he had been good…

Personal Knowledge
You all know my story. I always went to church, had Bibles in my home but only read them occasionally. And certainly NEVER the Old Testament! But I’ve come to understand the wisdom and truth that the Old Testament provides in how we are to live, to work, and to worship. And I just can’t get enough. Through these early years of my Christian journey I was very much dependent on the church and those around me to provide the advice and direction that I needed. Or I just relied on myself. Joash was very much the same. When he became king he was very young, but he did what…

He Never Stops, He Never Stops Working
Earlier this week Facebook shutdown for approximately 5 hours and sent the world into a frenzy. People felt lost and disconnected. It generated fear and panic. But hallelujah we serve a God that doesn’t stop working. We serve a God that promises to never leave us. We don’t need a phone or a social media platform to find God or to be connected to Him. If Facebook alone can cause such a ripple in our society just think what God could do if we all called upon His name for revival in this dark world. Over and over again God’s word reminds us of these promises. God doesn’t stop working.…

Embrace the Failures
Do you like making mistakes? If we are truly honest with ourselves the answer is absolutely not! It’s painful and it’s embarrassing all at the same time. Our human nature (at least mine!) is to do everything perfectly and to try and hide it when we make a mistake. “People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy.” Proverbs 28:13. God is telling us through this scripture that it is impossible to learn from a mistake if we don’t first acknowledge that we made one. What if we shifted our mindset to look at mistakes a little differently? What…
