Several weeks ago I participated in an executive women’s panel regarding the topic of confidence. It really got me thinking! As a young adult woman attending college in a male dominated field my ambition was fueled by the desire to prove myself and prove to others that I could be successful. But 28 years later, when I am asked what fuels my confidence there is only one answer: God. I am nothing without Him. This month Rooted is focusing on leadership. Last week was all about making a personal growth plan – we must grow ourselves to grow others. Our topic this week is Confidence. There is a difference between confidence and pride in leadership. God hates a prideful attitude and when we put ourselves before Him…thinking we know everything. Do you put each team member above your own success at work? To grow into a leader who influences others & people want to follow – we have to SERVE our teams! We will personally grow as a leader when we sacrifice for a team member and intentionally serve from the heart.
