Spiritual Nourishment
Jesus explained, “My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent me, and from finishing his work.” John 4:34 Jesus had just finishing telling the disciples He has the kind of food you know nothing about. Are you hungry for Jesus? As we continue to build our faith & nourishment through Bible reading, prayer and church, let me challenge you, how do we go deeper for more spiritual nourishment? As Jesus said, “to be filled we are to do the will of God!” This consists of us witnessing for Jesus and spreading the Good News. Remember, we are nourished (filled) not only by what we take in, but…

Encouragement for Today
As I read Ephesians this week I was just so in awe of this scripture. “The same mighty power….the same mighty power….”. I just keep repeating that!! Think about these words today as you go through your work day. I hope everyone is having a great week. I’ve been attending a leadership conference and I can’t wait to share! Heather

Be Peculiar
Does someone at work think you are peculiar in your faith? Peculiar is described as odd, unusual or special! At work, this has been real for me as a newer Christian on fire for Jesus! But, to be known as peculiar is the only way I want to be described when it comes to my faith and Jesus!!!! When I leave church on Sunday my faith goes with me throughout the week – everywhere – even to work!! John the Baptist was peculiar to say the least! He is also described as unique in the teaching part of my Bible. He dressed strange, ate bugs and lived in the wilderness. …

It’s OK to Rest!
Is your calendar full from the moment you wake up until you go to bed? Do you feel guilty if every minute of your day isn’t productive? Yes I know the feeling! Trust me! Last week I found myself mentally and physically drained one evening. When I looked back on my day I had been in 6 meetings in a row…with no break…with no time to recalibrate myself in between. Worst of all in my rush I wasn’t keeping my conversation with God going that day! Take time today to recalibrate. Ladies, it’s ok to rest!! We don’t have to be on point and productive 18 hours per day. The…

What Is Your Title?
Many know me at work as the Director of Facility Solutions. Yes, this has been the official title on my business cards and how the sales people introduce me to their clients. What is your title at work, how are you introduced? Intentionally, I want you to pause here so you can really think about this question …. In the workplace we are defined by our titles. Why? It is so we know where we fall in the chain of command or in the organizational chart of the company or to know what our duties are. Over the last several months I kept praying for God to search me, search…

Become Love Today
Look for our blog to post tomorrow morning about Titles in the workplace. Today is a start to a new day, a new week! Let us all rejoice in the Lord and walk with pure love today. My challenge for you this week is to not only flow love to someone in the office (you know that difficult person) BUT to also have love in your thoughts about them! Being a fake is only a facade, God knows our every thought. This is a true test of mind over matter and trusting in the ways of Jesus. True transformation starts on the inside! Let us love today with our whole…

Doubt
Doubt. Doubt is a powerful force. We’ve all been through seasons of doubt. Times where we are praying every day, praying diligently, but yet we feel like our prayers aren’t being heard. I was there a year ago. As I expressed my frustration a very wise friend suggested I pray for God’s will, not mine. I took the advice and stopped praying for what I wanted. I turned my prayer around and released my wants. This story is foundational to how Working Women Rooted in Faith even became possible! I’m so excited to share what happened in this journey with you on October 19th. On Sunday I finished a devotion…

Broken to Blossom
It is a new week and the Lord spoke to me through scripture today and confirmed the wonderful retreat weekend I spent with 127 beautiful women! “The stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone” Psalm 118:22 Psalm 118:22 was quoted by Jesus in Luke 20, He asked the crowds he was teaching what this scripture meant? Then Jesus answers them with this “Everyone who stumbles over that stone will be broken to pieces, and it will crush anyone it falls on.” Luke 20:18 This past weekend at our churches Women’s retreat that Heather and I attended – we learned what it means to be broken and then…

Come & Talk with Me
“Come and talk with me.” (Wow! This is the best invitation ever!) When I read Psalm 27:8 last week I just stopped reading and continued to meditate on these 5 words. “Come and talk with me.” I love David’s words. When troubles fell upon David he was already in the presence of God because he was in constant communication. I believe God is calling us to be so close to him that our prayers become a natural conversation throughout our day. *Lord, place your guiding hand on me as I enter this meeting. *God, I don’t feel that I handled that properly, help me! *I am talking to a very…
