Persistence
Last week Heather and I both spoke about prayer. Prayer is such a huge part of everything we do within WWRF and in our Christian walk. God introduced Heather and I at Pursuit Church a few years ago and a beautiful friendship started to develop. We discovered we are both business women and moms with careers that are very demanding. Working Women Rooted In Faith was started after a lot of prayer and with two women who are so crazy in love with Jesus. Through WWRF we want to share what we have learned over the years in the Corporate world (while walking in our faith or not) and how…

P.R.A.Y.
PRAY! Together we are on a journey of prayer. It brings the Holy Spirit in to our presence and oh how powerful that is! I recently read the book of Nehemiah and was reminded of P.R.A.Y. (Chapter 1). If you feel like you just don’t know how to pray I hope this simple guide provides a good starting point! Praise: acknowledge Him – The creator of Heaven and Earth. Thank Him for sending his son Jesus to die for us. Repent: we are all sinners! Repent by confessing sins. Admit that we hold no perfection. Ask: Ask God to break down strongholds and fill you with the Holy Spirit. Ask…

STOP & pray!
The disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray in Luke 11. Jesus said, “This is how you should pray,” “Father, May your name be kept Holy. May your Kingdom come soon. Give us each day the food we need, And forgive us our sins, As we forgive those who sin against us. And don’t let us yield to temptation.” Luke 11:2-4 If you did not pray today, stop and pray Jesus prayer above. Every day before you walk into your work place pray this prayer. Sitting at your desk during the day pray this prayer. The content in this prayer is very rich and it is what is…

Letting Go
Several weeks ago my Mom and I were sitting by the ocean looking at my children as they played and wrestled around with each other in the water. Even writing the word “children” seems slightly odd. My boys are basically grown; both have towered over me for years. And our little girl, the third baby that rounded out our family so perfectly, is now 13. As we sat there in that moment, watching all three of them, wondering if they would have more moments like this as our family dynamic changes with college just a few weeks away, it was a whirlwind of emotions. While reminiscing, my Mom told the…

Rooted
Coming off a fun filled weekend can be hard to get moving this Monday morning – I am with you all!! Let me encourage you to get renewal through your time in the Bible this morning! When my alarm went off at 4:30 this morning, I was tired. But before my feet hit the ground, I thanked God I woke this morning. What a true blessing we get to wake and have another day! Then I made my coffee and submerged myself in the Word. Nothing like a little coffee and a whole lot of Jesus. This picture of this incredible tree was taken by me on a hike this…

The High Road
It’s Thursday!! That means it’s almost Friday. Woo Hoo! For those that follow YouVerse I’m sure you read this verse today. These are the words of Jesus! “But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!” I have to write that again….PRAY for those who persecute you. There have been so many times in my career where I’ve had to take the high road. I’ve often joked it’s the only road I seem to be on at times. It’s not an easy road, and I’ve often missed the road sign! What is powerful here is the reminder “to be perfect, even as your Father is perfect.” That…

Never Too Busy to Get Up Early
It is Monday and a new work week is about to start for many! As we move into the week, let’s motivate each other to stay in prayer and in the Word. Today as I read in Luke chapter 4, Luke records accurately the actions and teachings of Jesus. Jesus came to teach us how to live and how to find salvation. What a blessing and honor we have the freedom to carefully study the words and life of our Savior. Jesus did all sorts of things in Luke 4! What stood out as a major ahhh haaa moment for me was that Jesus took time to be alone with…

New Way of Thinking
“Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the TRUTH that comes from him, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the SPIRIT renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God-truly righteous and holy.” Ephesians 4:20-24 I think if I had to chose my favorite book of the Bible it would be Ephesians! Today when you get to work, take a moment in the car and just simply pray these words Paul wrote: Lord, renew my thoughts and attitude!! We are all a work-in-progress. Our goal is not…
