Servant Leadership = Jesus

Matthew 14:1-14 is an example for us about Jesus on servant leadership.

Jesus, the best leader ever – hands down, never pushed away people and always put them first! He was other-centered in His ministry. He was always adding value to others and had compassion, no matter what the circumstance.

When John the Baptist was killed (this was his cousin and was one of the only people at that time who understood Jesus and His ministry) Jesus was heartbroken to lose his cousin and friend. I think of my cousins and how much I love them and cherish our friendships, if one would die it would break my heart. #family

Jesus has emotional feelings just like you and me, that’s why He gets us!!

Jesus goes to mourn and grieve for John in the mountains, but does Jesus get the time to do this? No…he does not… because the people needed him. During His attempt to go mourn, His people stopped Him to heal the sick and wanted to be with Him.

Out of love and compassion, He stopped where He was going and was there for them even in His own time of need. He miraculously feeds thousands of people with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish- this was the feeding 5000 story.

Jesus loves people fully and is other centered and not self centered. As Christians and leaders we can learn from his actions. He responded to His people and had compassion. He was present for them even in a tough time for Him emotionally. Jesus always walks among the people and does not act like He is above anyone or does not have time for them. #wanttobelikeJesus

Us as leaders need to be there for our people – our teams – even in times of our own suffering.

Jesus didn’t say to the crowds – “hey, I need a minute, you all need to go away because I am mourning. I have my own issues, I can’t deal with your issues right now.” NO!!! he did not say this, rather Jesus was present and was with them. He healed the sick and walked among the crowds.

He is our servant putting Himself last because He loves people, ALL of us, so very much! 🙌🏻

Servant leadership can become the greatest remedy for our own suffering by serving others. ❤️❤️ Jesus is our example of this, I pray we can follow His ways.

Even in difficult times Jesus put the people first! We must do the same. It all starts with loving Jesus and then loving people.

Stay Rooted ❤️
