Rediscover Jesus
Good morning and Happy Monday!
We have 7 weeks until Christmas!
Wow – 2019 went by like a flash. As we lead up to the celebration of Jesus’ birth, each Monday’s writing will be honoring Jesus.
Many of us may need a boost right now in our faith. It may be we are overwhelmed with busyness, have a sick relative, lost our job, our marriage is rocky at best or we are trying to get out of debt and save money to buy gifts for our children at Christmas. Whatever your struggle, we need a faith boost!!
This weekend, Todd and I cleaned out our office and prayer room. We went through many books we have and found the first book I read about Jesus. It is called “Rediscover Jesus” by Matthew Kelly.
My mom introduced me to Matthew Kelly many many years ago and I would listen to him on CD. Something about him drew me to listen to him. I know now what attracted me to him (the Holy Spirit in him), but at that time I was not following Jesus and my life was all about worldly stuff. God was working on me when I didn’t even know it!!
Side note…my mom prayed for me for so many years to rediscover my faith and she never gave up on me. I know so many moms out there that feel hopeless about their adult children finding Jesus, but keep seeking Jesus and praying for your kids. With God all things are possible! I am living proof.
Then for Easter of 2015 my mom sent me this book, “Rediscover Jesus” by Matthew Kelly. I looked at it for a long long time, then decided to read it. It was probably the first paper book I sat down and read since high school. Looking back, it was part of my journey to salvation that happened the summer of 2016 when I was saved.
I was so excited to rediscover this book, that I started reading it again yesterday! You may be thinking, I know Jesus, why do I need to read this book? But what came in my head is, how well do I really know Him? I can go deeper and want Him to be my best friend.

Each chapter ends with a point to ponder. The first point I want to share is “Jesus wants you to carry on his work.”

My prayer for this week:
Thank you God for this day! Jesus, please give us women the courage to let down our guards. May we STOP and take a deep breath. Helps us “seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness.” (Matthew 6:33) Open our minds and hearts to rediscover Jesus. In Jesus name we pray. Amen
