Book of Life – Is Your Name in It?

There is one way to hope, acceptance, freedom, peace and love – today and forever – that way is Jesus!

Jesus’ words: Rev 3:5-6 “All who are victorious will be clothed in white. I will never erase their names from the Book of Life, but I will announce before my Father and His angels they are mine. Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what He is saying to the churches.”

To be clothed in white means to be set apart. Christ DOES promise future honor and eternal life to those who stand firm in their faith! We are going to be set apart! The Book of Life symbolizes God’s knowledge of who belongs to Him. This is huge! We are not only living for Christ today but also for our future with God.

Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth, the Son of Man will also acknowledge in the presence of God’s angels. BUT anyone who denies me here on earth will be denied before God’s angels.” Luke 12:8-9

The Book of Life contains the names of those who have put their TRUST in Christ to save them. This book also records deeds both good and evil. Everyone’s life will be reviewed and evaluated by God.

No one is saved by good deeds but good deeds are seen as clear evidence as a persons actual relationship with God. Many think that “good” people who do “good” things will make it to heaven. This is false. Who you are on earth, what you have, or what you do will not get you into Heaven. Only Jesus can save you, this is how you enter heaven to be with God.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

John 14:6

Once saved we receive God’s gracious gift of salvation. Just because we are saved this does not free us from the requirement of faithful obedience and service. Our good deeds are evidence of a relationship with God as Christians. We must serve Jesus and others.

As we serve Christ and others we must live each day knowing the Book will one day be opened. Jesus is the only way to get your name in the Book of Life.

It is written that all people who do not have their name in the Book of Life will be thrown into the fiery lake of hell. This is frightening for so many people we know and love. Who would knowingly want eternity in a fiery lake versus a perfect heaven with our God? (Please go read the Final Judgement – Revelation 20:11-15.)

We need to spread the Good News to ALL! It is our calling as Christians to let people know about Jesus!! God does promise us a new earth, life free of all pain and sorrow – but only if your name is in the Book of Life. Only if you accept Jesus!!

“Nothing evil will be allowed to enter, nor anyone who practices shameful idolatry and dishonesty – BUT only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.” Rev 21:27

WARNING!!! If you choose not to accept Jesus on earth please know…there will be no hope after you die, no second chance, no other appeal! You will live eternity separated from God forever.
