BUT BY MY SPIRIT

Vision is defined as a clear picture of a positive future state. As we’ve learned this week every leader needs a vision in order to help the team keep perspective and stay on course.

Zechariah was tasked with rebuilding the temple in Jerusalem. But the Jews were discouraged. No small job right? His purpose was to give hope to God’s people by revealing God’s plan for the future and to rebuild!

Many people believe that the only way to succeed, the only way to execute the vision is by being tough, demanding and unyielding. Zecharaiah could have been ruthless but instead he proclaimed an impelling message to the people, a vision of the future that gave hope to the people. The Messiah was coming!

In chapter 4:6 we see that God says, Not by force nor by strength, but by my Spirit.” The key words here are “by my Spirit.” We don’t have to rely on our own strength and abilities when we have God on our side! We don’t have to demand we just have to lead with a dependency on the Holy Spirit. Doesn’t that make you excited?

It is only through God’s Spirit that we are able to work towards the vision. Ask God to guide you and direct you, ask God to bless the path you are on towards the vision you have for your family, your job, your purpose. God knows and controls the future. He alone is our hope and security.

Stay Rooted!
Love Heather & Lisa
