Unity…Paint the Beauty – We Split
“Spiritual pride blinds us to our own faults and magnifies the faults of others.” NLT Teaching Bible Eph 2
Hey… Lisa here and this is not really a popular subject to blog about, but sometimes God gives us difficult tasks.
Anybody been there when they think they are more spiritual and better than someone else in church or outside of church? God has checked me several times on my faith walk for these types of thoughts, including last night as I told someone how I refuse to watch a preacher’s series…was my spiritual pride in the way? Yup…forgive me Lord.
No one is better or worse in the eyes of Christ, He has reconciled us as ONE body. Go read Ephesians 2:11-17. It is a great reminder for us who divide over people being different – including how we interpret religion and where we go to church – this is not Christ’s way.
These actions of division I have observed and participated in over the last 18 months. Church division happened right here in little ole Denver NC by “churched” people – including Pastors. It is so so sad and we are not reflecting what Paul is teaching us in Ephesians about Jesus. Lord please forgive us.
Christ HAS destroyed the walls and barriers between people because He died for us on the cross! We all need to wake up and get over ourselves. (Me included)
I pray the Holy Spirit helps me and you look beyond the barriers and walls WE build up about each other and press toward the UNITY we are called to enjoy in Christ.
There is an eye opening song I heard about church division and a line in it says “paint the beauty we split.” (Sticks & Stones by Kings Kaleidoscope)
Christ would not want it any other way…His blood paints us and unites us… He wants His people to forgive and unite. Sticks and stones against each other will only continue to divide.
Be the change and unite.
