Busy as a Honey Bee…
Busy as a Honey Bee…
It is April, spring has sprung and summer is right around the corner. You may be asking yourself, “Where did the first quarter of 2019 go?” This thought has popped into my mind so much over the last few weeks. It has been a few months since I have written a blog and it has truly been because I have been so busy….
Many of you that know me know that I am not one for excuses. When I say I am going to do something I do it, it is my word and my word honors God. In this season of my life, I am as busy as a honey bee. My desire is to keep moving forward with Heather and sharing our experiences with women about God through work and life. But my busy life got in the way. I apologize and thank you for your patience.
This season I am in will soon pass… Here is a glimpse of it – remodeling our home, planning our daughter’s wedding, taking on a new position at work along with my regular responsibilities and sickness in my extended family. All prayers are welcome, only with prayer and the Holy Spirit will I walk through this season staying grounded and living for Jesus.
What to do when you are as busy as a honey bee?
I know I am definitely not unique, we are all busy! So many of us are trying to juggle life, jobs, kids, are super over committed and feel exhausted. I want to shout this from the rooftop, there is ONE thing that has kept me GOING and that is JESUS! I have relied on His teachings completely! God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and faith are still number one for me, period. During this season there have been stressful moments, I’m not gonna lie. How do I cope? Each morning when I am with God, He speaks to me and teaches me His character through His word. He teaches me what is most important and not to worry about “the stuff.” My relationship with God keeps growing stronger each day. A preacher I listen to, Dan Mohler says, “if what matters more is stronger in your life than what matters MOST, you need to be still and adjust your priorities.” I remind myself daily that He is what matters most!!!!
My advice to anyone reading this short blog about being busy is to get in the Bible, pray and adjust your priorities – make God the first priority. Do I have to get up early to spend time with God? YES!!! You will have to also, quit complaining and just do it!
Actually, before my feet even hit the ground I start praying for the day.
Lying in bed I pray to the Lord as follows, “Thank you for today. What an honor to have your Spirit fill this temple. With you Lord, I lack nothing. Your Word tells me you will not give me anything I can’t handle, thank you Lord. I love you Lord and I desire to become love like You and to be Your reflection as I walk through this incredible day! With you God anything is possible! Lord, no one owes me anything, all I do will be for You and I am so thankful for our relationship! Thank you Jesus and I love you!”
Attitude and prayer changes everything! All glory to God!
One other thing the Lord laid on my heart to share is to build your network of Christian women friends. You will turn to these women in times of need or joy. My circle is tight and I have been leaning on them for prayer and advice in this season. I was speaking with one of these friends about feeling bad about not writing more blogs for WWRF. She said… “write about how you are busy and that during this season you are staying connected to God but possibly need to change up what you and Heather are doing with Working Women Rooted in Faith. This too will pass but adjust as you need.” This advice and encouragement was just what I needed to get up early today and put these words on paper. Sometimes we are overwhelmed, but God will put his Word, a friend or a sermon in front of you with the advice to keep moving forward for the Kingdom.
We need our Christian women friends who will guide us and we can turn to about anything. Ask God to bring a Christian women into your life, it is a beautiful thing. My prayers have been answered and He will answer yours also.
Thank you my sweet friend, you know who you are and I love you so much!!
Thanks for reading and allowing me to share my busy life. Remember to read your Bibles and adjust your priorities where needed!
Love you all,
Lisa
