God is our only Source!
Many Christians and nonChristians think it is okay to lean on other sources to figure out the future besides leaning on our GOD! These forms today could be horoscopes, fortune-telling, witchcraft, and bizarre cults. These are detestable to God. (Deut 18:12)
In Deuteronomy it is very clear from the Lord that a call to Holy living does not include any of these things. God should be our only source for today and the future to lean on.
To hear God and know what to do we must know Jesus and accept Him as our Lord and Savior, we then receive the Holy Spirit within us and He will guide and teach us through God’s Word called the Bible.
If it is written in the Bible, we can’t ignore it!! God forbade the Israelites to follow or practice “fortune telling, or use sorcery, or interpret omens, or engage in witchcraft, or cast spells, or function as mediums or psychics, or call forth spirits from the dead.”
Deuteronomy 18:10-11
You all – this is serious stuff! Many brush it off as it is only fun and not a big deal…let’s just get our palms read or see what’s in our future – but God detests this and it is a big deal! HUGE deal!
Satan is behind all of these detestable things. Remember he is the master of lies and deception. We are curious so we go there, this is not a step towards Holy Living and trusting only our God. Please go study the Word and know these things open the door for Satan.
ALL we need to know is in the Bible!
If you have done these things in your past, go repent and ask to be forgiven. I have had too…I used to read my horoscope daily, went to a slumber party as a kid and played with a weggy board, and had been to a physic when I was a young adult. I had no idea God detest these things, when we know better we do better.
If you are still doing these things, STOP! Go read Deuteronomy 18. The Lord God forbids us to do such things.
This is a touchy subject for many and not spoken about often, but it should be and we all need to be aware of! GO tell others, we can’t unlearn what God has taught us!
We only need one source – Our God!
